Welcome to the wiki for the Empire of Mars scenario, created by EmpressAutumn.

Empire of Mars is an alternate history and future history creative writing project set in the mid-22nd Century.

Overview

For the purpose of writing the scenario, Empire of Mars is split into five "phases". These phases are marked by several highly-significant events, and the goal of the writing project is to connect these events by filling in the phases with plausible and highly detailed information.

First Phase (1992 - 2016)

The Empire of Mars scenario diverged from our timeline on the 16th of July 1992, as independent candidate Ross Perot chose not to withdraw from the 1992 presidential election.

Second Phase (2016 - 2040)

On the 23rd of June 2016, the first Brexit referendum was held in the United Kingdom, and the "Remain" vote won by a slim margin. A month later, on the 25th of July 2016, the Democratic Party of the United States officially nominated Bernie Sanders for the 2016 presidential election. These two events mark the beginning of the second phase of the Empire of Mars scenario.

Third Phase (2040 - roughly 2090)

The third phase begins when Blair Halifax is elected President of the United States.

Fourth Phase (roughly 2090 - 2153)

The fourth phase begins with the start of the Martian Revolutions.

Fifth Phase (2153 - ongoing)

By the 22nd Century, humanity has significantly advanced in many ways. During the Second Space Race, colonies were built on the Moon and Mars and have continued to grow since then. On Earth, climate change has been mitigated and most of the world has been industrialized. It is an optimistic but reasonable view for the future of humanity.
