The Halifax Family is a prominent political family in the North American Federation. It has produced one Prime Minister of Canada, one President of the United States, and two Presidents and one Prime Minister of the North American Federation.

Blair Halifax

Blair Morgan Halifax was the 49th President of the United States of America from 2041 to 2045, and the 1st President of the North American Federation from 2045 to 2055. Prior to the uniting of North America, she was a citizen of both the United States and Canada. She played a pivotal role in the formation of the NAF, and was its longest-serving President.

Halifax was born on the 18th of January 2003 in Trenton, New Jersey. Her father, Frederick Halifax, was a Canadian immigrant, so Blair was a citizen of both countries. She moved to Toms River, New Jersey 2021 at the age of 18. She became interested in left-wing politics during the Presidency of Bernie Sanders, and started working in local politics.

In 2025, Halifax ran for Township Council in Toms River, focusing primarily on reducing poverty rates and increasing the average income. Despite being a Republican-dominated area, she won the election for Councilman-at-Large and took office on the 1st of January 2026. She was reelected to this position in 2029. Her time on the Council saw an increase in spending and revenue, and a reduction in the poverty rate.

Halifax ran for the United States Senate in 2032, as then-senior Senator Cory Booker was stepping down. She emphasized her leadership experience while on the Toms River Council and was vocally opposed to the popular Hogan Administration. She won the Democratic primary, and ultimately was elected to the Senate with 41% of the popular vote, outperforming most predictions. She took office on the 18th of January 2033, her 30th birthday, after spending 15 days as a non-voting observer.

During her term as Senator, Halifax continued to be a strong opponent of the Hogan and White Administrations. She became well-known nationwide during her 2034 media tour, where she endorsed several anti-Hogan Senate and Congressional candidates. Thanks in part to this effort, the Democratic Party became completely dominated by its progressive wing. In 2036, Halifax went on another media tour to campaign for David Perez, which was unsuccessful. She decisively won a second term in the Senate in 2038, a year which saw the Democrats win a majority in both houses due to an economic recession. She resigned on the 17th of January 2041 after 8 years in office.

Halifax announced her intention to run for President in the autumn of 2039. She promised to balance the budget, lower the cost of living, and restore America's social services to their pre-Hogan states. Although the Blue Dogs were put in a uniquely strong position by the Republican Party's infighting, she won 302 Electoral College votes and took office on the 20th of January 2041. She was the only dual citizen, as well as the second woman and second person from New Jersey, to hold the office of President of the United States.

Blair ran for reelection in 2044, pledging to continue integration with Canada, and she managed to win another term. On 5 October 2045, she and Prime Minister Carrol signed the North American Federation Acts, merging the United States of America and the Republic of Canada. She then became acting President of North America, and new elections were scheduled for November 2046.

Blair ran for President of North America in 2046, sparking debates about whether the 22nd Amendment should prevent her from seeking a third term. In a controversial Supreme Court decision, it was decided that the Presidency of the United States and the Presidency of North America were two different offices, and that Blair was eligible to serve two full terms in the future. She went on to win the election, affirming public support for the decision.

Blair again ran for reelection in 2050 and won.

At the age of 68, Blair died in her New Jersey home in 2072.

Bradley Carrol

Bradley Carrol was the 26th Prime Minister of Canada from 2034 to 2045 and the 1st Prime Minister of the North American Federation from 2045 to 2046. He was a cousin of Blair Halifax, and was an important player in the abolition of the Canadian Monarchy and the uniting of North America.

Bradley was born in 1999 in Ontario to two Canadian parents. His mother was a member of the Halifax family, and her brother was Blair Halifax's father.

Bradley ran for Parliament in 2030, winning a seat. His rhetorical skills allowed him to rise quickly in the Liberal Party, and after the 2034 Parliamentary Election, he was elected Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Canada in a coalition with the New Democratic Party.

During the February 2038 Election, Bradley helped expand the Liberal Party's support, winning an outright majority in Parliament. Following the death of King Henry I and the ascension of Archie I, he again called for elections in June. He capitalized on republican sentiments and the unpopularity of the new king to win a supermajority in the June 2038 Election, and subsequently abolished the monarchy and created the Republic of Canada. He also signed the Mutual Voting Rights Agreement during this term.

Bradley ran for Parliament again in the 2042 Election, promising to work with President Blair Halifax on continued integration between the United States and Canada. The Liberal Party lost its supermajority, but maintained a majority in Parliament and allowed him to continue as Prime Minister. In 2045, he signed the North American Federalization Acts with President Halifax, and became the acting Prime Minister of North America.

Following the 2046 Federal Elections, Bradley intended to continue serving as Prime Minister. However, the Social Democrat and Liberal Parties, which intended to form a coalition together, failed to win a combined majority in Parliament. Although he maintained his seat, he decided to resign his leadership of the Liberal Party and retire from politics. He died in 2070 at the age of 70.

Yusef Halifax

Yusef Halifax was President of the North American Federation from 2110 to 2118. He ran on the promise of ending the Martian Revolutions, and upon his inauguration, he announced that North America no longer intended to reconquer its colonies. During his administration, he normalized relations with the Empire of Mars. He was the great nephew of Blair Halifax by her younger brother.
